Unity Owl Sentiment Kit

Good morning! I never got these posted last month when this sentiment kit - Owl I Do Say - from Unity Stamp Company came out - but definitely had to share them! They were a great way to play with my new Daniel Smith watercolors I had just picked up, and also a great way to use up some of my scrap strips of pattern paper!

I pretty much stamped them out several times on watercolor paper, and just spent a relaxing evening coloring them all in. Some I did in expected color combos - and some I just had fun with. Pretty much playing around! Then, I found pattern papers that coordinated with my finished birds, paired them up with sentiments, and turned them into cards! Here is a look at each of the finished cards:

Teen Guy Birthday Card

My nephew recently turned 17 years old - ACK! Where does the time go?!?!? He was born 2 weeks before my hubby and I got married, so I have pictures of me in my wedding dress holding his tiny newborn self. Now? Now he towers over me! I have so many fun memories of this guy - all the way from him making me an aunt to begin with, to recently taking a ride with him as he had his drivers permit and learned to drive. Now, he has a license and a car to drive around - so of course, I had to make his card to fit that theme. :)

I used one of my favorite stamp sets for guys - from Unity Stamp Company, and it is appropriately called For the Guys. I stamped out a background on kraft paper, stamped the car in soft gray for a background (it is a bit easier to see in person than in the photo), then added some pattern paper, sketchy lines, and a couple staples for simple embellishments.

CardMaker and Pretty Pink Posh Hop

Good morning! It's blog hop time again for the CardMaker Blog Design Team - today we are partnering up with one of my favorite companies (and another of my Design Teams), Pretty Pink Posh! You should have arrived here from Melissa Bickford - if you've just happened along, make sure and head back to the Cardmaker Blog to start at the beginning so you don't miss a stop along the way!

I put together this clean and simple Easter card using the new Easter Blessings Stamp Set and Coordinating Easter Blessings Dies:

I started off by stamping the sentiment on an angle over the bottom of my white cardbase in black ink to create a repeating pattern. I also added a little bit of gold splatter to this layer. I then stamped the crosses, colored them with Copics - adding a couple white gel pen accents, then cut them with the coordinating dies and layered them on my card using foam adhesive. Finishing touch was a bit of jute twine wrapped and tied around the top of my card!

Paulina is also hosting a giveaway of some newly released goodies - make sure and finish the hop by heading over to the Pretty Pink Posh to get the details on that!

Here is the entire blog hop line-up so you can follow along and see all the fun inspiration!

Floppy Ears Bunny

Every month, Unity Stamp Company releases a new Sentiment kit - and they are one of my very favorite kits! There is usually one focal image, and then tons of versatile sentiments that you can use with all your other Unity stamps to help stretch them further and use them in different ways. This month's kit, Bunny - Keep You Forever, has this adorable little floppy bunny - and oodles of darling sentiments to go with it! I spent an evening doing some watercoloring of the bunnies to make these simple cards:

This first one I colored up to mimic a vintage child's toy - the first idea that popped into my head when I saw this bunny.

Next, I went with a slightly more modern combination.

This one was also watercolored - but I did varying concentrations of color on my brush and sort of added tiny dots to add some texture to the bunny to look like it was fuzzy and soft.
